Math-science partnership to help implement standards

The Maine Department of Education is supporting a Math-Science Partnership project to support the implementation of Common Core math and English language arts standards.

The project aims to: facilitate integration of Common Core math, ELA and Next Generation Science Standards through the collection or development of tools; build a community of practice among leaders in math and science in Maine’s higher ed institutions, K-12 schools and out-of-school settings; and complement existing Maine initiatives such as Literacy for ME: Maine’s comprehensive literacy plan. This project was made possible using federal Title II funds.

Maine DOE staff will hold the project’s first planning meeting on Nov. 27.
