Call for nominations: Maine’s History Teacher of the Year

The Maine DOE encourages teachers, administrators, students, and parents to nominate teachers for Maine’s History Teacher of the Year award. The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and Preserve America annually recognize outstanding American History teachers at the State and national level. State winners receive a $1,000 prize and an archive of classroom resources. One national winner receives a $10,000 prize.

The 2016 award will honor grades 7-12 teachers of American History. Nominations are due Feb. 15. For more details and to complete a short nomination form, visit the History Teacher of the Year pages of the Gilder Lehrman Institute’s website.
