Student Artwork to Appear on Laptop Screen Savers

AUGUSTA – Digital artwork by 19 Maine middle and high school students was chosen as the screensavers for 70,000 laptops used in Maine schools. The students were recognized last month at the annual Maine Learning Technology Initiative student conference at UMaine in Orono.

The images were chosen in a statewide online competition with almost 400 entrants. More than 1,000 students and teachers participated in the conference where the winners were recognized. Some of the students were among the presenters at the conference, which included presentations by teams of students and their teachers. The goal of the conference is to give students and teachers technology learning ideas to bring back to their own schools.
