The MIT Alumni Club of Maine is inviting Maine middle- and high-school science, engineering, and math teachers to apply for Club scholarships for this summer’s MIT Science and Engineering Program for Teachers (SEPT), which takes place June 24-30 at MIT.
SEPT is a one-week, residential program that helps middle- and high-school teachers better engage their students with exciting science and related technical curricula.
The week-long program offers lectures on a range of science and engineering topics that emphasize the results of cutting-edge research, and hands-on laboratory sessions that employ science teaching tools that can be brought back to the classroom.
The program, which has operated more than 20 years, runs June 24-30; the class size is limited to 30 teachers.
Visit MIT’s website for a complete description of the Science and Engineering Program for Teachers. Completion of the program results in four continuing-education credits.
The two scholarships offered by the MIT Alumni Club each cover the $900 program fee. To apply, download the application from the above website and email it to email@example.com. The scholarship application deadline is Feb. 20.
Scholarship selections will be made by Feb. 22. Applications are due to MIT by March 1.
