Maine History Day brought 286 students from 24 middle and high schools to the University of Maine at Augusta on March 28.
Students showed off exhibits, performances, websites, documentaries and other projects exploring a broad variety of historical themes.
The annual competition recognizes the top three entries for each project category in each division — as rated by volunteer judges. The top two entries are eligible to participate at the National History Day competition held at the University of Maryland in June.
Students competed in two divisions: The senior division for students in grades 9-12 and the junior division for grades 6-8.
