Science specialist explains Next Gen Science Standards

The Maine DOE’s Science and Technology Specialist Anita Bernhardt will conduct a two-hour informational session for educators to learn about the Next Generation Science Standards, hosted by MSAD 75. The event is open to all Maine educators, but participation will be limited to the first 50 registrants.

Maine is one of 26 lead states working with Achieve to develop the NGSS, which will define the science concepts and content students will need to learn to be successful in the workforce, economy and society of the coming decades. In this session, attendees will learn about the basics of the Framework for K-12 Science Education and the Next Generation Science Standards. This is the first in a series of three events being offered by MSAD 75.

The first event will be held on Jan. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Mount Ararat Middle School. Light refreshments will be served.
