Maine DOE offers regional assessment administration workshops

The Maine DOE is offering four regional workshops in January to support school districts as they prepare for the spring administration of the Maine Educational Assessment for Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy developed by the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.

Districts are invited to send two representatives from each school district to attend the training and the Department recommends that includes the individual identified as the District/System Administrator (i.e. district test coordinator) and a school test coordinator. Those individuals will then train other school test coordinators and test administrators in their district.

Registration by Dec. 17 is strongly encouraged to ensure a slot is available. After Dec. 17 registrations for additional staff will be accepted as space allows on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition to the regional trainings, tutorials are available on the Professional Development/Training page of the Department’s MEA website section as are other administration resources and others will be added in the coming weeks.
