Alternate assessment for mathematics and ELA dates set, resources released

User and student registration will open next month for the National Center and State Collaborative Alternate Assessment based on Alternate Standards (NCSC AA-AAS) that will be used to assess mathematics and English language arts.

The testing window for grades 3-8 and the third year of high school is March 30-May 15.  Training modules will be available after user registration is completed.

Before the NCSC Alternate Assessment:

  1. Please look at the Test Administration Manual (TAM) found at: http://www.ncscpartners.org/resources. Though this is the Pilot 2 manual, it will provide test administrator and test coordinator responsibilities. The TAM also describes built-in features and accommodations.
  2. All accommodations must be determined before administration of this assessment and be part of a student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  3. All Special Education Directors must determine and designate who will be the test coordinator for your district.

More information will be posted when the development of the NCSC Portal is completed.  A webinar to assist with registration and administration of the NCSC assessment is scheduled for Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m.
