iOS8 compatible secure mobile browser available for assessment administration

An iOS 8 compatible secure mobile browser application that will be used on Apple iPads for the upcoming administration of the Maine Educational Assessment for Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy is now available.

The application was developed by American Institutes for Research (AIR), Maine’s assessment administration vendor, and can be found in the app store on the Apple iPad by searching “AIRsecuretest” or by clicking here.  Those who already have the application on their tablet from last spring’s field test should update the application.

Meanwhile, the Department’s Learning Through Technology Team continues to work with Apple to leverage new iOS functionality called “Autonomous Single App Mode” to make test administration easier for both teachers and students and will communicate with districts when that optimal test environment is made available.
