The Maine DOE has finalized for release the report from the Maine Learning Standards Review Panel. This broad-based panel was convened by Commissioner Jim Rier in 2014 to review the state’s English language arts and mathematics standards.
The panel used a consensus protocol to review individual grade level components in each of the content area and generated ratings for clarity and rigor. While the report makes a few recommendations for adjustments to the ELA/literacy and mathematics standards, overall the review panel found the standards to be both clear and rigorous.
The Department’s recognition of the report’s findings follows the conclusion of the 37-page report. The report can be found here on the Maine DOE’s website and on the
