Net Off Invoice (NOI) products available to schools

The Maine Department of Education’s Child Nutrition program announces School Year (SY) 2017 Net Off Invoice (NOI) products available for processing. Schools will log onto NEO to submit their requests beginning March 14 – 25, 2016. This is not a change from previous years, only an announcement this will be available on March 14, 2016.

This is an optional program that allows districts to utilize their United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Planned Assistance Level (PAL) to purchase certain products from their regular distributor at a USDA discounted price. Maine DOE Child Nutrition will continue to offer regular USDA products. Products include cheese, chicken, potatoes, eggs, tomatoes and fish items.

This year beef items will be offered as well.

On March 26, 2016, items with enough interest and volume will be purchased by Maine for SY 2017. Maine has a minimum truckload per product of one quarter of a truckload.  This offering must be completed by March 25, 2016. The spreadsheets that are used to assist in the planning will be available on the Child Nutrition web page at http://maine.gov/doe/nutrition/programs/noi/index.html by Friday, March 4, 2016.

In-person assistance will be available at the Maine DOE, located on the fifth floor of the Cross Office Building in Augusta at the following dates/times:

  • Monday morning, March 14, 9 a.m. – noon
  • Thursday afternoon, March 17,  noon – 4 p.m.
