Maine DOE, Taiwan renew international partnership

The Maine Department of Education and the Taiwanese Ministry of Education have renewed a strategic partnership that will allow teachers and students in both places to participate in a variety of educational exchanges.

Maine Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen and Cynthia Huang, Cultural Division Director for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston, renewed the three-year-old memorandum of understanding between the two agencies at a meeting on Jan. 6.

The two education agencies initially signed a memorandum of understanding in February 2009 as a way to foster international educational collaboration at both the K-12 and post-secondary levels.
