UMaine invites teachers to campus for a day

Teachers of students in grades K-12 are invited to the University of Maine on April 18 to learn about Maine workforce development needs and how to bring STEM-related (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) innovation back to their classrooms.

The day at the University of Maine will include the following activities:

  • Designing a wind blade at the Advanced Structures and Composites Center;
  • Creating a new food product at the Foster Center for Student Innovation; and
  • Learning about growing fish at the Aquaculture Resource Center.

The day’s events, which last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., are free for teachers. Advance registration is required.
