The following Priority Notice was distributed to school superintendents today in advance of the 104th Annual Commissioner’s Conference for Superintendents:
Dear Superintendents,
We look forward to working with you next week during the 104th Annual Commissioner’s Conference for Superintendents, scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at Sunday River’s Jordan Hotel in Newry.
Thanks to the thoughtful feedback of our conference planning partners from the Maine School Superintendents Association (MSSA), the Department has designed an agenda that provides the information and practical tools to be effective change leaders as your districts navigate the opportunities ahead to improve the college and career readiness of our students.
As part of our commitment to ensuring our shared time at the conference is as productive as possible, we are pleased to provide you some conference materials and helpful links for your review in advance at www.maine.gov/doe/commishconference.
Maine DOE staff from School Finance and Operations, School Construction, the Data Warehouse, MEDMS Reporting, and School Approval will be on site and available to answer questions specific to your district during individual meeting times. There will be sign-up sheets at the conference registration desk. If you plan to schedule time with the School Finance and Operations Team, please bring copies of your FY 15 and preliminary FY 16 ED 279s.
Please note, materials will continually be added as they become available up to and including throughout the conference, so we encourage you to bookmark this page and check back for updates prior to arriving in Newry on June 28. We also recommend you bring your laptop or tablet, as there will not be printed copies of the materials that have been posted in advance to this page.
