Leadership program for superintendents, principals welcomes applications

UPDATED: The program will launch on August 16 and 17 with an opening retreat and will conclude in late June 2013.

The Leadership Maine: Education Leaders Experience offers established educational leaders a truly unique learning opportunity over a span of 12 months.

Beginning in August, the program aims to build strong relationships between Maine’s educational leaders and business partners, and to build a collaborative support network statewide. Participants will have exclusive access to key community and business leaders to discuss ways they can align the strategies used to teach and develop Maine students with the critical needs of the state’s economy and communities.

Superintendents, principals and assistant principals are encouraged to apply. Applications will be accepted through August 10, 2012.

Participants are selected for their leadership capacities, talents, and life experiences, and all share a core commitment to helping Maine students reach their full potential.

This opportunity is provided by Unum, the Maine Development Foundation and the Maine Principals’ Association.

The individual cost for the program is $1,000, and limited scholarships may be available on a case-by-case basis.
