Notice of CDS Part B 619 Committee Meeting and Invitation for Public Attendance

Child Development Services and the Maine Department of Education are convening a CDS Part B 619 advisory committee which is tasked with identifying and addressing all issues related to the proposed transition of special education and related services for children age 3 to kindergarten age 5 to the public schools and developing recommendations to be submitted to the Department.

Committee membership includes representatives from Child Development Services, Maine Department of Education, Maine Parent Federation, Maine Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities, Maine Association of Community Service Providers, Maine Children’s Growth Council, superintendents from RSU 12, Biddeford and Dayton Schools and the Special Education Director from RSU 10. Members of the public are also welcome to attend meetings of the committee.

The first committee meeting is scheduled for October 16, from 11:00 to 1:00 and will be held in room 103A&B of the Burton Cross Building (adjacent to the capitol building) in Augusta.

Additional meetings are scheduled for:

October 23, from 11:00 to 1:00 and will be held in room 103A&B of the Burton Cross Building.

October 30, from 11:00 to 1:00 and will be held in rooms 500 & 541 of the Burton Cross Building.

November 6th, 13th,20th and December 4th, 11th, and 18th, from 11:00 to 1:00 and will be held at the Department of Health and Human Services, Conference Room C&D, 35 Anthony Ave., Augusta.
