Connecting classroom to math assessment focus of Maine DOE workshops

The Maine DOE is inviting math educators to one of the six workshops the Department will host across the state next month focused on connecting the classroom to the new online Maine Education Assessment developed by Smarter Balanced.

Maine DOE Mathematics Specialist Michele Mailhot and consultant Dan Hupp will lead the full-day grade-span sessions designed around the eight mathematics teaching practices discussed in Principles to Actions: Ensuring Mathematics Success for All. During this workshop, participants will develop an understanding of how these teaching practices support student learning in mathematics and the connections to the mathematics claims outlined in the new assessment system.

The cost to attend is $30 per person, and includes lunch and materials. Registration can be completed by clicking here and must be completed by the Jan. 30 deadline.
