We are joining Maine DOE Teacher Leader Fellow, Joshua Chard, 2024 Maine Teacher of the Year, and a teacher in Portland, ME Public Schools, in celebrating Arts in Our Schools Month—a time to recognize the powerful role the arts play in helping students learn, connect, and express themselves. From student artwork lining hallways to concerts, performances, and creative projects happening in classrooms statewide, the arts are bringing learning to life every single day. The Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative is expanding workforce training opportunities—helping students gain in-demand skills, launch new careers, and build brighter futures close to home. Congratulations to students from Veazie Community School and teams across Maine for an incredible showing at the Maine FIRST LEGO League Challenge State Championship! Do you know an outstanding school nurse making a difference in your community? Registration is now open for the Maine DOE McKinney-Vento Spring 2026 Regional Meetings! The Maine Department of Education (DOE) is pleased to join the Maine Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) community in celebrating National CACFP Week from March 15-21, 2026. The Maine Department of Education (DOE) is excited to announce the Maine Seal of Climate Literacy! This high school diploma endorsement prepares and empowers students with environmental literacy, traditional ecological knowledge, and green workforce skills to rise to the challenge of climate change for the future of Maine’s communities, workforce, and natural environment. See innovative learning in action! The Maine DOE is hosting two Innovative Research & Design (IR&D) Learning Tours this spring—offering educators a chance to step inside schools and see student-centered programming at work. STEM in action at Mt. Ararat High School!
