This year the data team will be hosting a series of webinars to cover end of year reports. All webinars will be on Tuesdays at 10am, no registration is required to join. The Join Live event links below will be active on the date and time indicated for each webinar.

Reports Due 4/15: April 1 Enrollment & Quarter 3 Reports

April 1 Enrollment – Reporting is due on April 15, 2023.

This report collects April student enrollment to calculate tuition rates pursuant to Title 20-A, §5805, Subsection 1.B.

Required to Report: All school administrative units and private schools with publicly funded students should ensure that their enrollment data is current, including Charter Schools and Education in Unorganized Territories.

Reporting Resources:

Quarter 3 Reports: Attendance, Truancy, Behavior, Bullying – Reporting is due by April 15th.

Superintendent certification is required for all quarterly reporting, with the exception of Attendance data, which is only validated for Quarters 1, 2, and 3 then certified for Quarter 4.

Report Open: April 1 Enrollment

April 1 Enrollment reporting is open as of April 1, 2023, and is due on April 15, 2023.

Attendance, Behavior, Bullying, and Truancy reports for Quarter 3 (January, February, and March) open on April 1st.

These reports are due on Sunday, April 15th.

These reports will need to be reviewed, validated, and certified. Superintendent certification is required for all quarterly reporting, with the exception of Attendance data, which is Validated in Quarters 1, 2, and 3, then certified in Quarter 4.

In preparation for this reporting, please update student data in State Synergy and review data in NEO.

NEO and Synergy – State Reporting Training

End-of-year reporting is just around the corner. If you would like to brush up on reporting requirements and/or Synergy and NEO navigation before reporting periods open, now is the best time of year!

The Maine Department of Education Data Team offers training in both NEO and Synergy for anyone looking to further develop their navigation skills of these systems for state reporting purposes. Trainings can be done with new or current users one-on-one, in small groups, or in a group setting for whole districts.

Training is targeted to meet the needs of anyone uploading or entering data into Synergy and/or NEO for Maine State reporting purposes.

Topics include, but are not limited to, data entry, uploads, and report navigation of;

  • Daily Attendance
  • Enrollment
  • Truancy
  • Staff
  • Special Education
  • Bullying

Trainings can be held virtually or in person at the preference of the district and/or user, and typically run for 1 hour. More time can be provided as needed.

Quarter 2 Reporting Opens Soon: Attendance, Behavior, Bullying and Truancy

The Department of Education offers quarterly windows for districts to review, for accuracy and comprehensiveness, data that has been entered and reported for Attendance, Behavior, Bullying and Truancy. The intention of quarterly reporting is to increase regular review of data in hopes that it will save time for districts at the end of the school year, as well as provide time for analysis and correction of data if necessary.

The reporting period for Quarter 2 Attendance, Behavior, Bullying and Truancy data opens on January 1st. Review, validation, and certification are required to be completed by January 15th. Superintendent certification is required for all quarterly reporting, with the exception of Attendance data, which is only validated for Quarters 1, 2, and 3 then certified for Quarter 4.

Quarter 2 (Q2) – Reports opens Jan. 1. Due Jan. 15.

 Reporting range includes October, November, and December.
