Typically, each year, for a variety of reasons, a few districts decide not to purchase school buses which were approved for state subsidy. If the state receives school bus cancellations from schools then the Maine DOE can approve a second round of bus purchase approvals.

AUGUSTA – The Legislature’s Education Committee agreed on Thursday to pursue discussions about increasing school choice options for Maine students.
The Office of Special Services at the Maine Department of Education will provide training on the electronic application process for 2012-13 Local Entitlement funds. There will be a choice of webinar sessions – April 26 at 9 a.m. or 1 p.m. The webinar is anticipated to last approximately 1.5 hours.
