Join educators, administrators, families, and students on April 8, 2026, in Augusta for a day of collaboration and learning around inclusive practices that support every student. Applications are now open for a student seat on the Maine State Board of Education — a unique chance to represent your peers, engage in civic leadership, and help shape education policy across the state. New from the Maine DOE! Maple Bytes is a new interdisciplinary instructional program that blends Indigenous knowledge, computer science, and earth science, giving Maine students a hands-on way to explore maple syrup and the world around them. Calling all Maine educators! Get an overview of the For ME Instructional Programs (pre-K through grade 2) and learn about free summer training opportunities to support implementation in your school for the 2026-2027 year. The 11th Annual Read to Me Challenge is coming this February — a fun statewide event to celebrate reading with your child or student! Maine Educators! Explore a variety of numeracy professional learning opportunities this winter and spring from the Maine DOE—aligned to Maine’s statewide Action Plans and designed to support strong math instruction for all learners. Take advantage of winter and spring literacy learning opportunities from the Maine DOE aligned to statewide Action Plans — from workshops and cohorts to virtual support hours designed to strengthen your practice and support students across grades. Portland, ME Public Schools PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) work is transforming school culture — creating more joyful, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for students and staff alike. From stronger leadership opportunities for students to declines in behavioral incidents, this is a celebration of community and growth! The Maine DOE is seeking educators to help enhance MOOSE (Maine Online Open-Source Education) modules—free, project-based learning resources for preK–12 classrooms. Participants can earn up to $3,000 while supporting accessible, high-quality instruction statewide.
