Notice of annual audit requirements
Maine DOE is providing notice of a change to requirements as well as reminders about the annual audit requirements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015, and subsequent years.
QZAB Tax Credit Bond applications due October 15
The Maine DOE will accept applications for the Federal Qualified Zone Academy Bond (QZAB) Program through October 15. The Department currently has $1,435,000 of QZAB issuing authority to distribute to qualifying schools units.

Rule Chapter 13: Qualifying Examinations of Teachers, Educational Specialists and Administrators has been formally adopted by the Department and took effect June 23.
MaineCare Seed payment adjustments made, report review by August 21
The 2015-16 subsidy checks for General Purpose Aid for local schools will reflect adjustments for MaineCare Seed payments paid by the Maine DOE on behalf of school administrative units (SAUs) for the following:
- 2015 Quarter 3 MaineCare payment adjustments
- Note: 2015 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 corrections were already applied to the FY 2015 ED 279 printouts.

MooseCamp is a proficiency-themed conference on August 12 in Dexter, offering the opportunity to collaboratively problem-solve challenges faced when designing and implementing a proficiency-based system of learning. This EdCamp is open to everyone from administrators, teachers, ed techs, students, parents, school board members, and legislators. All participants who come to MooseCamp will receive a copy of the first book in the “Essentials for Rigor” series by the Marzano Center of Learning Sciences: “Creating and Using Learning Targets and Proficiency Scales.”
