AUGUSTA – Maine’s nationally recognized robotics teams and STEM student leaders were honored by Governor Paul R. LePage and Education Commissioner Stephen Bowen this morning in a ceremony that reinforced the need for students to better develop the skills that will make them – and Maine – competitive in a global economy.

Join the Collaborative Learning Series – “Unlocking Multilingual Learners’ Potential: Strategies for Making Content Accessible” to explore evidence-based strategies, collaborate with colleagues, and strengthen instruction for multilingual learners. @ha_broncos student Will created this reel after participating in the Maine DOE’s "Civics on the Road" event at his school recently! Congratulations to Kathy McNamara of Montello Elementary School in Lewiston, named the 2026 Maine School Counselor of the Year! The Maine Department of Education joins the Maine School Counselor Association (MESCA) in celebrating Kathy’s dedication to student success and well-being. Calling Maine students! Students interested in agriculture, food systems, and public policy are invited to participate in Youth Agriculture Policy Day on March 25 in Augusta. Celebrating student creativity and connection! Lewiston High School theater students brought an original performance to Connors Elementary School, inspiring younger learners and sharing the power of storytelling and collaboration. @maineffa State Reporter and Southern Maine Community College student Jillian McLaughlin created this short video during last week’s CTE Month celebrations at the Maine State Capitol, capturing the incredible talent, innovation, and impact of Maine’s Career & Technical Education programs. New opportunity for early learning communities! Learn how the Early Learning Solutions Lab Community of Practice and mini-grant opportunities can help turn ideas into meaningful impact for young learners and families. #ReadtoME in action at Veazie Community School! Mrs. Allen’s second-grade class has been celebrating World Read Aloud Day with an extended week of fun and learning, welcoming nearly a dozen “mystery readers” into their classroom! Each guest sent three clues ahead of time, giving students a chance to guess their identity before they arrived to share a favorite story aloud. Celebrating great work in Maine schools!
