A May conference in Bangor will bring together middle-school students, their teachers and administrators to plan how they can prevent bullying against students with disabilities in their schools.
The conference, called “Bullying Prevention: Strategies that Work for Middle School Students with Disabilities and Their Teachers,” will feature Marjorie Withers as the primary presenter. Withers is director of the Community Caring Collaborative in Washington County.
The event takes place May 30 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Spectacular Events Center in Bangor.
The conference is sponsored by the Down East Communities of Practice Planning Committee, of which the Maine Department of Education’s Student Assistance Team is a member.
