Teachers across the state have successfully implemented their Celebrating Rural Maine plans — partnering with community organizations, creating real-world learning experiences, and sharing their stories in a newly released podcast hosted by the National Council for History Education and the Maine DOE: Celebrating Rural Maine: Community Civics and Place-Based Inquiry Registration is NOW OPEN for one of Maine’s most exciting professional learning events of the year! We are celebrating Maine’s future leaders in agriculture! Maine school nurses—don’t miss this summer learning opportunity! Help recognize outstanding educator leaders across Maine! Proposals are now open for the Every Teacher a Leader Conference, part of this year’s new ElevatED professional learning experience happening July 29–31 at Thomas College in Waterville. Maine educators—bring local stories to life in your classroom! The Maine Department of Education is seeking educators to pilot Maine’s Online Open-Source Education (MOOSE) modules and new Wabanaki Studies Educator Guides in classrooms this spring. These free, interdisciplinary, project-based learning resources—created by Maine teachers for Maine students—offer meaningful opportunities to engage learners while helping shape future instructional materials. One book, one community, countless connections! At MSAD 6 Central Office (Bonny Eagle School District), a shared reading experience is bringing students, staff, and schools together in a powerful way. Through “BE Reads Together,” the simple idea of one book, many readers created a sense of unity, belonging, and connection across the entire district.
