Maine Educators! Explore a variety of numeracy professional learning opportunities this winter and spring from the Maine DOE—aligned to Maine’s statewide Action Plans and designed to support strong math instruction for all learners. Take advantage of winter and spring literacy learning opportunities from the Maine DOE aligned to statewide Action Plans — from workshops and cohorts to virtual support hours designed to strengthen your practice and support students across grades. Portland, ME Public Schools PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) work is transforming school culture — creating more joyful, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for students and staff alike. From stronger leadership opportunities for students to declines in behavioral incidents, this is a celebration of community and growth! The Maine DOE is seeking educators to help enhance MOOSE (Maine Online Open-Source Education) modules—free, project-based learning resources for preK–12 classrooms. Participants can earn up to $3,000 while supporting accessible, high-quality instruction statewide. Maine DOE is currently accepting applications for funding from SAUs whose school boards have designated an existing school or established a new school as a community school. Community School grant funds can help schools expand structures that build stronger partnerships and wrap-around services that meet the whole student’s needs. There is an information session on January 20 at 3 p.m. Maine schools & SAUs are invited to host an AmeriCorps member for the 2026-2027 program year through Goodwill Industries of Northern New England — helping strengthen community supports and build capacity in your school! Huge congratulations to the 2025 Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Award Winners! @maineahperd The Can We? Project continues to empower young people across Maine and New Hampshire with the skills to listen, engage respectfully, and lead through dialogue. From ongoing school-based work to regional gatherings like Can We? Connect, students are building stronger communities and learning how to navigate differences together. At Jordan-Small Middle School in RSU 14, Students are taking science out of the classroom and into nature with a new outdoor education pilot that’s sparking curiosity, teamwork, and hands-on learning.
