Seeking parents for school psychologists advisory committee
The Maine Department of Education’s Advisory Committee of School Psychologists has three open seats to be filled by parents of K-12 children currently attending a Maine school. These children may be in regular education or receiving special education or some combination of both.

Open auditions for Maine eighth graders to compete on local game show
WPXT is holding open auditions for the fifth season of its locally produced game show, Kick Start. The show is being billed as part Double Dare, part Jeopardy for kids. Contestants will compete in various questions and challenges in an attempt to win a NextGen College Investing Plan.

Review amendments to FERPA
The Uninterrupted Scholars Act (USA) was signed into law in mid-January by President Barack Obama and became effective immediately. Amendments to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act include Additional Exception to Parental Consent Requirements for Students in Foster Care; and Exemption to Notice Requirement When Records Released Under Court Order. Participate in free webinars on Summer Food Service Program
The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) Office of Strategic Initiatives, Partnerships and Outreach is offering the public free, weekly webinars on the Summer Food Service Program. These webinars will review SFSP participation requirements, cover resources and available tools, and highlight successful programs and outreach practices from around the country. At the end of each webinar, FNS program experts will answer listeners’ questions. Listeners should contact the Maine DOE if they have additional questions.
