The development and implementation of Performance Evaluation and Professional Growth (PE/PG) systems has prompted many school administrators to look for opportunities to share ideas and resources.
In a PE/PG system, resources related to the ongoing training of evaluators and educators such as vendors and professional development events are of particular interest in that they influence the quality and sustainability of a system. In an effort to help identify and share the variety of approved professional practice models being employed across the state, the Maine DOE recently circulated a paper survey at each of the nine regional superintendent’s meetings via the Department’s Regional Representatives.
The table found here lists all school administrative units (SAUs) who responded to the survey and the professional practice model they have chosen for their teachers and/or principals. The table does not list SAUs whose responses were inconclusive, nor does it list those who did not respond.
Thank you to all who took the time to respond; although we did not hear from every SAU, the results are a good basis for networking across the state. We hope that this information will help to build bridges across the vast landscape of education in Maine even as SAUs honor the local needs of their school communities.
