Maine DOE hosts webinar on proficiency-based diplomas readiness

In response to requests, the Department is offering a webinar titled Proficiency-Based Diplomas: Extension or Confirmation on the morning of September 5 from 9-10:00.

This session will highlight the intent of each of the proficiency-based diploma readiness options, the tools that support self-assessment of readiness, and the application process to apply for an extension by which the proficiency-based graduation requirement will be met or to apply for a confirmation of readiness to award a proficiency-based diploma after January 1, 2018.

Time will be set aside during the webinar for participants’ questions on the session topics. The intended audience is new superintendents and new high school principals; however, others are welcome to participate.

This webinar will be recorded and available on the Getting to Proficiency Support page of the Department’s website.
