WIDA ACCESS for ELLs® English language proficiency testing window opens Dec. 1

The WIDA ACCESS for ELLs® will be a paper-pencil test this year and will be administered to all English learners in grades K-12 during a testing window from Dec. 1 to Jan. 30.

In order to have all English learners participate in this mandatory assessment, all schools are encouraged to ensure that appropriate grade and tier level tests have been ordered and that there are adequate numbers of test administrators who have completed the required WIDA online certification course.

The Maine DOE recommends schools take full advantage of the testing window to facilitate students’ participation and accommodate teachers’ and students’ schedules.  Please contact Maine DOE ACCESS for ELLs® Assessment Coordinator Nancy Mullins with test training, ordering and administration questions at nancy.mullins@maine.gov or 624-6788.
