Educators are encouraged to register now for the annual Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) conference on Nov. 1-3 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. For this 70-year anniversary of the conference, New England Patriots former tight-end Jermaine Wiggins will join as special guest.
The conference includes sessions on helpful and practical uses of technology; interactive, skill-based teaching strategies; proficiency-based assessments; adaptive physical education; as well as featuring a keynote session on the link between physical activity and academic achievement. This celebratory conference will also feature the SHAPE America President, Steve Jefferies speaking on national trends regarding health and physical education.
