Last summer the Maine Department of Education’s Data Management System (MEDMS) staff data collection was transferred into a new system called NEO Staff. During that transition time, NEO Staff required a lot of manual data entry because of the limited amount of data that was able to be brought forward into NEO from MEDMS.
Now that the staff has been entered, the NEO Staff system should only need to be used to make changes to existing records.
A focus group from the field that worked with the Maine Department of Education on the NEO Staff module discussed the possibility of a staff upload feature into NEO Staff. Because the Department wants to analyze NEO Staff data in this first follow up year to see exactly what type of data is being entered in the Staff module, it’s been decided no uploads to the NEO Staff module will be offered for the 2016-17 school year.
It is necessary to know exactly what type of changes are being made to the staff data in order to build the functionality to make those changes in an upload process, so such a request for a staff upload feature into NEO Staff can be revisited in the future.
