Maine Career and Technical Education instructors and an administrator were honored by the regional Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). Of the 16 states in ACTE Region I, three of the six awards went to Maine CTE leaders.
- ACTE Region I Teacher of the Year — Brandon Soards from Rockland who teaches digital graphics;
- ACTE Region I Administrator of the Year — Dave Keaton from Houlton; and
- ACTE Region I New Teacher of the Year — Alison Reece from Houlton who teaches Early Childhood Education.
These individuals have been chosen based on their extraordinary contributions to CTE programs and their commitment to serving CTE students. The Region I winners will progress as national finalists in their categories, and national winners will be announced in November.
