Maine CITE program supports adaptive technology loan fund

The mPower Loan Fund, which provides loans for adaptive equipment with the support of the Maine Department of Education’s Maine CITE program, announced Monday that two of their representatives participated in the RESNA Catalyst Project meeting in Washington, D.C., last week. Maine CITE was the driving force behind the mPower board obtaining $750,000 in additional federal funds five years ago.

Clarification on triennial evaluations of students with disabilities

The federal IDEA and Maine’s special education regulations require a reevaluation of a child with a disability if the school administrative unit (SAU) determines that the educational or related service needs of the child, including those related to improved academic achievement and functional performance, warrant a reevaluation or if the child’s parent or teacher requests one. Leadership program offered to superintendents, principals

Maine Development Foundation is accepting applications for the beta class of Leadership Maine: Education Leaders Experience now through June 1. Once again, we are partnering with Unum and the Maine Principals’ Association to offer an exceptional program for K-12 educational leaders. Participants in the program refine their leadership skills and join a vibrant community of business and community leaders in Maine as they create a thriving state for our students and neighbors.
