The Maine DOE is seeking a contractor to support the Maine Seal of Biliteracy, World Language education, and coordination of the PINE Project. At Mt. Ararat Middle School (MSAD No 75), the Sheepscot Team is showing how project-based learning can help students find belonging while developing critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving skills. Through hands-on projects and a team-centered approach, students are building deeper connections to their learning, their peers, and their community. The Maine Department of Education is excited to welcome 10 talented student interns who will spend the summer contributing to projects across the agency while gaining valuable professional experience and insight into public service. Congratulations to 2026 Maine Volunteer of the Year, longtime Lewiston educator Sue Pratt! What happens when therapy dogs, second graders, and community service come together? Something pretty special. The Maine DOE is seeking additional applicants to serve on the State Numeracy Advisory Council. This is an opportunity for classroom teachers and special educators to bring practitioner voice, share expertise, and help guide statewide efforts to strengthen mathematics teaching and learning across Maine. Applications and letters of recommendation are due June 26, 2026. Ready to recharge your summer and level up your practice? Reminder! The Early Learning Solutions Lab Community of Practice (CoP) has expanded through 2026, offering continued opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and shared learning for Maine’s early childhood educators and leaders. Calling all new school nurses!
