750 attend conference on technology in education

More than 750 Maine educators attended the 24th annual MAINEducation Conference on Oct. 13-14 at the Augusta Civic Center. The conference is the annual gathering of the Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine, or ACTEM.

This year’s conference featured dozens of presentations by Maine educators and vendors on topics including cyberbullying, the use of Google Apps for Education and digital citizenship.

The two-day gathering featured a keynote address by Tony Vincent, a technology consultant focused on the use of mobile devices in education. As technology integrator at an elementary school, Vincent involved students in developing the first podcast from an American elementary school.
