Registration opens for Real World Design Challenge

Registration is now open for the 2011-12 Real World Design Challenge, an annual competition that offers high-school students from across the United States the chance to work on real-world engineering challenges in a team environment.

Each year, student teams are asked to address a challenge that confronts our nation’s leading industries. Students use professional engineering software to develop solutions and develop presentations to demonstrate the value of their solutions.

The Real World Design Challenge provides students with opportunities to apply the lessons of the classroom to technical problems faced in the workplace.

Student teams can visit the Real World Design Challenge website, http://www.realworlddesignchallenge.org/, to sign up for the 2011-12 competition.

In 2011, a team of students from Falmouth High School competed in the national Real World Design Challenge competition in Washington, D.C.
