Special education Q&A: Form for Adverse Effect

The Maine Department of Education has added a section to the Maine Unified Special Education Regulations (MUSER) Questions and Answers document found on the Department’s website. The new questions and answers section addresses the Form for the Determination of Adverse Effect on Educational Performance.

The question-and-answer document is available at: www.maine.gov/education/speced/MUSERrevised12-23-2011.rtf. The new question and answer can be found on page 55 of the document under “Required State Forms — Adverse Effect Form.”

The MUSER Questions and Answers are a resource for special educators in Maine. The Maine Department of Education updates and adds to the document to reflect changes made to MUSER and to provide interpretations of MUSER.
