STEM summit focuses on community engagement

The Maine STEM Collaborative is inviting educators and representatives from the business, non-profit and government communities to attend the third bi-annual STEM summit.

The daylong gathering takes place March 20 at Colby College from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will focus on developing partnerships and infrastructure to support statewide improvements to STEM teaching and learning.

The summit will feature speakers from Maine’s education and business communities and opportunities to network with other conference participants before, during and after the event. The topics discussed during the afternoon portion of the conference — called the “Unconference” — will depend largely on desires and interests of the participants.

Registration opens Feb. 3 and closes March 8. Visit the 2012 Maine STEM Summit website to register and learn more about the daylong summit.

The conference is offered at no cost, but space is limited.
