South Portland High School’s robotics team is headed to St. Louis in late April to compete in the national FIRST Robotics Championship after the team won a regional robotics competition in Manchester, N.H.
South Portland’s team, called RiotCrew, earned first place at the three-day 2012 BAE Systems Granite State Regional FIRST Robotics Competition in Manchester on March 1-3.
Robots constructed by the team and team members took home a number of honors, including a Creativity Award, the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award and the first seed overall in the competition.
Congratulations to the students and mentors who make up South Portland’s RiotCrew from the Maine DOE!
