Wellness conference fosters healthy schools

Note, added April 12, 2012: The application due date has been extended to Thursday, May (, 2012. The late registration fee has been reduced to $205 per participant.

The 27th annual Maine Schoolsite Health Promotion Program “Wellness” Conference will take place Monday, June 25 through Wednesday, June 27 at Sugarloaf USA.

The cost is $195 per person for the full three days of the conference.

This year’s conference features a packed schedule of school-site health promotion professional development and opportunities for school teams to plan. The keynote presenter is Kathy Dempsey of Keep Shedding! Inc. Her presentation is called “Shed or You’re Dead®: How to Stay Alive, Celebrate YOU & Thrive in the Midst of Turbulent Change!”

Applications are due April 12, 2012. No money is due with the application.

  1. DeAnna, thanks for your comment. I asked Susan Berry, health education and health promotion coordinator, and she said you can receive 19.25 contact hours for full participation in the 2013 conference. We also have an article with the 2013 conference information if you need the details.
