Send a teacher to all-expenses-paid science, math academy

Third-, fourth- and fifth-grade teachers can apply for the opportunity to attend a week-long, all-expenses-paid professional development program that equips them with new ways to inspire their students in math and science.

Applications for the 2013 Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy are due Oct. 31.

More than 3,600 teachers have attended the summer academy since 2005, impacting the lives of more than 230,000 students nationwide. Nominate a teacher at, or encourage them to visit the site themselves and apply.

Phil and Amy Mickelson partnered with ExxonMobil to develop the academy in conjunction with the National Science Teachers Association and Math Solutions. The Mickelson program inspires teachers from across the country in math and science and equips them with interactive teaching tools to ignite their students’ passion for these subjects.

Two of the nation’s leading teacher-training organizations, Math Solutions and the National Science Teachers Association, design the curriculum, provide instructors and manage the daily activities and logistics of the Academy.
