The Christopher Columbus Fellowship Foundation is now accepting nominations for four Agriscience Awards and four Life Science Awards to be awarded in July 2013 in Washington, D.C. One scientist, one high school educator, and two high school students will be named for each of the two award types.
Nominations are accepted online only. The deadline to nominate for the Agriscience Awards is Jan. 29. The deadline to nominate for the Life Sciences Awards is Feb. 12.
Individuals compete and their accomplishments are judged on how they exemplify excellence in the field of agriscience or life science. One $10,000 distinguished scientist award will be presented in each category to scientists who are making or have recently made significant and positive contributions in the field of agriscience. One $5,000 educator award will be presented to a current high school educator in each category, with at least five years of teaching experience, and who emphasizes concepts, principles and applications in their curriculum to promote the study of agriscience or life sciences to students. Two $1,000 student awards will be presented in each category to current high school students who are making or have recently made significant and positive contributions related to agriscience or life sciences.
