Join webinar on new Common Core skills report

Achieve will host an informational American Diploma Project Network webinar on the release of its new report, “Understanding the Skills in the Common Core State Standards,” on Dec. 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. District officials, administrators, teachers and their economic/workforce development colleagues are invited to join this particular webinar.

The report identifies the types and ranges of college- and career-ready skills reflected in the CCSS in mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy, using two sets of skills statements—the Deeper Learning Standards and the Career Cluster Essential Knowledge and Skills Statements—as benchmarks. Achieve deliberately selected two diverse sets of skills statements to ensure that the analysis focused on both broad, transferable “habits of mind” skills and skills more aligned with workplace and career readiness. These two skills statements, selected from those currently in use across states, are fairly representative of the universe of skills most valued by education, business and society.

During the webinar, Achieve will present key findings and implications of the analysis and provide time for the audience to engage directly with the authors and ask questions.
