The Maine DOE’s school transportation software, Transfinder, is undergoing a server improvement and will be temporarily unavailable to the public starting Friday, July 12 at 9 p.m. and ending before 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 13.
The following is a message from Transfinder regarding this issue.
Maine Transfinder Clients,
We have become aware of issues regarding the use of the Transfinder software suite and are working to resolve them. This software suite, which is funded and made possible by a state program, is offered to all districts in the state of Maine at no cost. The program products and services are provided through an educational and technical provider coalition consisting of the Maine DOE, Core Education and Consulting Services, TekLinks and Transfinder.
In preparation for high volume usage, a hosted server solution was implemented during the pilot period at the beginning of the program to ensure ease of use and consistency across all districts. Due to the large volume of Maine districts that use the software, we are experiencing issues that may be due to the server not being optimized for the current use. Volume is particularly heavy now as district staff prepare their transportation logistics for the coming school year, which may have added to the issue. We are pleased to see the increase in use and seek to improve your service.
As many of you realize, technology is constantly in a state of change. We are now working to provide you with the most current and optimal solution to eliminate the technical issues many of you are experiencing. We therefore are upgrading all Maine clients to a new server starting July 12 at 9 p.m. and ending before 9 a.m. on July 13. It is our intention and hope that you do not experience any further technical issues when you begin work on Monday, July 15.
As the most client-facing member of the program coalition, Transfinder is providing the most direct client interaction and support and is happy to take your calls regarding this and any other issue you may face regarding your software use. Transfinder is actively working with all coalition members to ensure this issue is resolved as quickly as possible and will communicate any of your concerns to all involved.
We thank you for your patience and concern as we work to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
