The Maine DOE Center for Best Practice (CBP) has created and posted five flyers designed to help districts move forward the conversation about the shift to a proficiency-based learning system.
In the six case studies done for the CBP, the most frequently cited struggle was around communication. To better help districts communicate the value of proficiency-based learning moving forward, the Department created five flyers to support the Technical Assistance Plan and Getting to Proficiency: Helping Maine Graduate Every Student Prepared. The flyers have parallel designs, but each has content geared toward a different stakeholder group: administrators, teachers, students, parents and CTE educators. They are designed to be printed and distributed by districts, as they see the need.
