UNE scholarships available for future STEM students

The University of New England (UNE) is seeking Maine students for Scholarships in Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (SSTEM), an initiative funded by the National Science Foundation.

With a $620,000 grant, UNE’s School and University Collaboration Centered on Educating STEM Students (SUCCESS) project designates scholarship funds to supplement financial aid for qualified Maine students who pursue STEM majors at UNE. Beginning with incoming freshmen in the fall of 2014, the scholarship offers up to $10,000 per year for all four years at UNE. Science, math and technology teachers, school guidance counselors and principals may share this information with students and help them apply.
