Educators engage in evidence-based professional development

More than 200 Maine special educators and representatives of the Maine Departments of Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Health and Human Services recently participated in evidence-based professional development for the State Personnel Development Grant (SPDG).

The Post-Secondary Transition Planning Capacity Building Institute was hosted by the Maine Administrators of Services for Children with Disabilities and the Maine DOE. This event focused on SPDG, Goal Three, Aligning Individualized Education Programs to Proficiency-Based Education, as well as Goal Five, Increasing Special Education and Related Services Personnel. Participants aimed to improve post-secondary transition planning at the regional level through post-secondary content sessions, facilitated discussion and action planning.
