School, technology leaders reminded to complete assessment readiness survey

The Department is reminding school and district leaders to complete the short technology readiness survey in advance of the spring administration of the new Maine Educational Assessment for Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy developed by the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium.

The survey, which can be accessed here, was distributed to schools in late November and will help the Department better understand Maine’s overall readiness for the upcoming assessment administration and also any technology and infrastructure upgrades needed by individual schools.

Many Maine schools have already responded and their feedback has informed the Department’s Learning Through Technology Team, which will begin making technical assistance visits to schools in need of support starting next week.

For more information about the survey or technical assistance related to assessment technology readiness, please contact Maine DOE consultant Andy Wallace at meatech.doe@maine.gov. For more information about the MEA or the Maine Comprehensive Assessment System, visit www.maine.gov/doe/assessment.
