Transition Career Exploration Workshop offered

The Maine DOE’s State Personnel Development Grant and the Maine Department of Labor’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) have partnered to offer schools a free e-workshop that helps students discover employment possibilities.

The Transition Career Exploration Workshop is a flexible curriculum, developed by DVR,  that is available electronically and includes many assessments that can be used to strengthen transition planning for college and career readiness for all students including students with disabilities.

Currently, DVR is working with a number schools in Maine to implement the workshop in a variety of creative ways including as an after-school activity, integrated into an English or social studies course, jointly presented with a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor or offered to students over a school break.

For more information or to request the workshop for your school, please contact Chris Bean at 822-3317 or christopher.b.bean@maine.gov.
